The first time I stayed at a bed & breakfast was when my wife and I went on our first anniversary vacation weekend. We knew we wanted seem away, we just weren’t sure where or must wanted to do.
A colleague of hers showed her a book of bed & breakfasts’ around the United Pronounces. She brought the book home to me to have a look to see what I thought about going to one of these for our anniversary. With zero experience (at the time) and zero an understanding of bed & breakfasts’ I was a bit skeptical. Must really want to spend my weekend staying in someone’s home?
The more I read about the bed & breakfast lifestyle, the more I became intrigued, until finally my wife got hooked and we booked a bed & breakfast in upstate Vermont. I can honestly say it was a wonderful time. The bed & breakfast owners treated us like royalty, waited on us like we were a king and queen, and meal truck (that was included our own purchase price) was simply unbelievable.
Since then my wife and I have been to two other bed & breakfasts, one in Williamsburg, VA and another in upstate Nyc near Seneca Body of water. Although the concept every single bed & breakfast were similar, these folks were different in a variety of ways. For instance in Vermont at breakfast and dinner (both that were included) we sat at your table in the adjoining restaurant. In NY and VA we ate a massive table with every one of the other guests. In VA the owners took care of everything, well them and their kids. In NY and VT the owners ran the place but also had help to get rooms ready whilst keeping the place clean up. In VT we had our own outside entrance to our own room as generally if the room was all of our house. In NY and VA that you had your own bedroom in the same house with the opposite guests.
Regardless of whichever style you choose, if you have not stayed at a bed & breakfast you should. Each one was wonderful a person really felt like your story were part on the owner’s family when you stayed there.
I would recommend first pick a setting where you know you would really love to stay. Do you like the mountain ranges? How about the sun or a tropical island? Once realize what you really want to do, take a look up the bed & breakfasts as areas that you have targeted and start reading up fitted. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other book stores have an assortment of books you can think about without purchasing to obtain this information. You should also go to check your local library or look for only a bed & breakfast directory online.
Once you experience the location and purchase it narrowed down 1 or two possible bed & breakfast choices, start pricing them out and hear if they are available in your budget. Let me tell you that very good a bit pricier then a normal hotel room (some of them anyway). However verify what type of amenities you get for your offering price. Most come with breakfast, otherwise it would just be called Bed & go outside of my house in the dawn. You get the level. Some also serve dinner and offer afternoon tea & snacks. Find out what you get for your dinero. It will definitely along with your decision.
